WHY DO YOU WANT TO BE A PART OF THE UNIVERSITY SALSA CLUB EXECUTIVE BOARD?

In only a semester and a half I have met so many incredible people in Salsa Club, who have welcomed me and pushed me to become a better dancer. This organization is one I am so proud of being a part of because it is all about having fun, meeting other people, while also learning a new skill that you can continuously work on. I want to give back to this organization that has quickly become such an important community to me by becoming more involved and making sure everyone, especially future members, continue to have a great experience in which they are welcomed and encouraged as I have been.

HOW DO YOUR TALENTS OR ABILITIES MAKE YOU WELL-EQUIPPED FOR YOUR DESIRED POSITION?

I have experience working with business services of the Office of Dean of Students in managing the account for my peer mentoring program. This year I have been in charge of budgeting for events and making sure we always have money on our card before making purchases. I keep track of our expenses and update our records. In addition, I have experience with applying for funding from various sources such as College Council and the Alumni Association for Second Year Council Events. I am very organized and attentive to my emails which would facilitate the updating process whenever someone needs me to record an expense.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF TO SOMEONE WHO DID NOT KNOW YOU?

I love meeting new people and learning more about their lives. I absolutely love brownies so if you ever want to make me happy all I need are some Betty Crocker fudge brownies (please avoid cake-like style, thank you). I really enjoy trying new things such as Salsa Club last semester which has been one of the best decisions I have made at UVa.
