Stephanie Gernentz

Rising 2nd Year

Position:

Treasureer

Who you are and Relevant experience:

Hey guys, my name is Stephanie Gernentz and I am a first-year running for treasurer! I may be a first-year but I have a lot to offer to the organization and I hope that with your help we can make this club even better in the years to come. I decided to join Salsa Club my very first semester because I have previously danced salsa, bachata, and Rueda and after performing at graduation, I knew I had to continue dancing in college.

This semester I decided to try out for showcase and was fortunate enough to make it in! I am thoroughly enjoying my time with the club while attending both salsa lessons on Mondays and my showcase practices. Through showcase, I have made a lot of great friends and this has been such a wonderful way to be more involved. But I want to continue to grow the club, and I feel that I could do so through the position of treasurer. I feel that I best fit this position because I already have experience in budgeting and money management. I am currently 1 of 3 members in the Clark Leadership Council for the inaugural cohort of Clark Scholars, and this position involves event planning, seminar scheduling, money budgeting for social and community events, as well as serving as a base for communication between our directors and the cohort. With this experience, I have no doubt I will be able to perform the job of treasurer and help our Salsa club grow into an even better club each semester.
