President

Who you are and Relevant experience:

Hey guys! I’m Tarah, a third year psychology major. I joined salsa my first semester at UVA, and after dancing my first Bachata in showcase, I never looked back. I have grown to love this club in the past three years, and most importantly the people in it. I would love to serve as your President to give back to the club that have given me so much.

I have been dancing since I was three, an instructor since my second year, and have choreographed two showcase dances. I was abroad last semester where I started my own salsa club at sea, and recruited over 100 people to join! Currently, I organize weeklies, encouraging instructors to teach their favorite styles to the club. I aim to serve as your equal, helping you find your strengths. The quality of your experience in salsa is extremely important to me, and I want to be able to provide a positive, safe environment for everyone. I hope to be a smiling face, encouraging you to come to your first lesson even though you think you “can’t dance”, and being a friend to you until your last. As your President, I would serve as a listener, showcasing you all and encouraging you along the way. One of my favorite parts of being in the club hasn’t been finding my love for salsa, but seeing you all find yours. I would be humbled to be your President.
