Ada O’Shea-Yeomans

President

Year:

4th

About me:

Hi! My name is Ada and I’m so excited to serve as this year’s President! I’m a 4th year from Philadelphia studying Psych and French, and filling my time with all things Salsa Club-related.

When I joined the club at the beginning of my first year, I had no idea how big of a role it would play in my time at UVA and what an impact it would have on my life overall. I quickly got swept up in my first showcase, attending lessons every week, social dancing as much as possible, and meeting my closest friends along the way. That first year, I found my home at UVA and since then I’ve been so excited to share it with anyone I can.

I have served as the Club’s Secretary, SalsaFest Finance Chair, Events Coordinator, an Instructor, and now as President! I’m always looking for ways to be more involved and opportunities to help this club continue to improve every semester—welcoming more and more new members, putting on fabulous shows and events, staying connected to the culture, the language, and the history that brings us Latin dance, creating a learning community and that is collaborative and fun, as well has just informative, and of course, dancing our little hearts out. Salsa Club has given me so much and I want to give back as much as I can to the club and to you all.

Outside of the club, I love working on my French (I just studied abroad in Paris!), all kinds of music, and spending time in the outdoors. If you ever want to go hiking or camping you know where to find me! Feel free to shoot any questions my way or just come up and say hi—I can’t wait to meet you! <3
