about me:

Hellooooo! My name is Sidney Hubli, and I am the President of UVA’s 🔥Salsa Club🔥. I am a fourth-year from Fort Worth, Texas majoring in Commerce, with concentrations in IT and Management and a minor in Global Sustainability. I did lots of dancing growing up, and my mom was a professional ballroom dancer (fun fact, she got an offer to dance in Dirty Dancing and said no).

Even with my background in dance, I actually joined the club because my friend Victoria wanted to come to one of the free lessons and didn’t want to go alone. I have been active in the club since then and absolutely love getting to see everyone at lessons, social dancing, showcases, and our other club events! My favorite style of Latin dance is salsa, but I also really enjoy the other styles we learn at lessons; I’m currently working on getting better at Kizomba and Cha-Cha. I was super excited to choreograph the club’s first Samba and share my Brazilian culture with the club last semester.

As much as I love dancing, Salsa Club is definitely not the only thing I do with my time. I know four languages, love animals (especially my rescue dog, Oreo), and ran my first half-marathon in 2023. I have met some of my best friends through Salsa Club and think you will too; I’m SO excited for this year and making the club even more picante!

With a thousand shimmies,

Sidney 💃
